Systems Engineer - UK

Salary: Subject to experience TBC

Description:
We are an Audio Visual, IT and Comms Company who work in every sector; we are an award winning company and boast some of the UK biggest clients. We provide support and managed services to our customers/partners for our solutions and related technologies. We are looking for motivated and knowledgeable engineer with experience in the following areas:

Windows Networking Administration and troubleshooting:

  • MSCE skill set. Windows Server Products (2003 to 2008 R2), Exchange Server (2003/07/10) and Networking (Domains, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.)
  • Strong knowledge and hands on recent experience with troubleshooting/administration/support of Microsoft window based applications, infrastructure and Voice Networks.

Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Client Products:

  • Strong working knowledge of major networking components.
  • Hands on knowledge of the procedures used in the installation, modification maintenance and repair of IT hardware and software.
  • Ability to communicate, relate and understand a users’ and technician’s technical request despite their level of technical knowledge.

Technically you will have experience working with Windows, MS Office, Outlook, Active Directory, Firewalls and Exchange. Hardware experience is a must (installing memory, printers and peripherals) as well as having knowledge of backups most particularly Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec, Anti virus and Blackberry.

Must have the ability to install, configure Patch panels, POE, and switches, UPS & rack mounts. Any exposure working with Apple Macs and Smart Phones would be beneficial though not essential.

Primary minimum Responsibilities

  • Be part of Support team ticket system to work on support issues coming via Phone, chat or email from our partner’s/customer’s.
  • Participate in managed services, field services and other services activities as required.
  • Be direct point of technical contact for high profile customers to provide high quality support for Software, Hardware support and related technologies.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of current technologies, industry trends and develop advanced expertise in one of the subject matters (Telephony, Networking, VOIP, DBs etc)
  • Must be able to handle pressure and work long hours under critical situations.
  • Good communicator and team player.

To be considered for the role you must be MCP certified or Ideal candidate will possess 2 years of recent experience as a Support Engineer. This is an essential requirement for this role.   • Full clean driving license.
  • No criminal record – we operate within the education sector & Criminal justice and due to the nature of our work we carry out CRB checks on all our staff.
